If you're at all informed with current events, apart from console mixes, the DDR industry has been rather unproductive over the past two years or so.
The question posed here: do you think DDR can last this extended hiatus, or will one of the many ready-and-waiting competitors overthrow its seat on the arcade rhythmic throne in the meanwhile?
I personally think the series is doomed if Konami doesn't realize the potential of the huge following DDR has amassed.. but I believe it's also possible that they're not even concerned with that at this point.
I actually would like to see the series survive for more exposure of the many, MANY excellent songs the Bemani artists continue to produce, as well as drawing attention to their other works, but if it's not to be, there seem to be a growing number of alternatives with each passing day.
What's your stance on this?

I think, that if Konami does not make a 9th mix, that DDR will no longer be an Arcade game. konami seems focused on making as many home versions as possible.
Right now, ItG and PIU are MUCH better to play in the Arcade, because they offer something new. DDR dominates the home gaming.
Yeah, I think if Konami doesnt make a new DDR 9th Mix machine, DDR will be stuck in home versions and PIU and ItG will dominate the Arcades.
