Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! follows the exploits of a cheer squad in training, who set out to help those in need whenever called into action by the needy simply screaming: O-U-E-N-DAAAAAAN!!!
Each level guides the trio(which varies based on difficulty, Easy, Normal, and Hard using a different leader, while Expert involves a different group entirely) through a cheerleading routine based on the rhythm of the particular song.
Players use the DS stylus to tap circles in time with the beat of the song, as well as following predetermined paths and drawing lengthy circles to keep the squad going.
