Phone Number (one that I can contact you at at just about any reasonable time of the day):
City that you are coming from:
Or you can just reply to this thread with the words "Pre-reg" with the same info.
RULES:
This is a Dance Dance Revolution Supernova Technical tournament. This tournament will be double elimination. I hope to have enough people show up to have 32 people qualify.
Qualifying Round- Everyone will play one song out of a list of five songs from a qualifier song list. The song list will be announced approximately 1 week prior to the tournament. We will use the scores on the qualifiers to determine seeding.
~All songs at this point on will be chosen via the Card System and are won by whoever has the most PERFECTs and OKs.
~Higher seed chooses which side of the pad he would like to play on.
~Lower seed's song will be played first unless otherwise agreed upon by both players.
~Mods that change the original step pattern of the song are not allowed in a match except for RANDOM only if the two players agree.
~All note mods are allowed (rainbow, flat, etc.).
~Speed mods are allowed.
~OVERHEAD will be used on all songs in all rounds. No other perspective, scroll, appearance, effect, or acceleration mods are allowed.
~You have exactly 3 minutes to get within my viewing or hearing range when your name is called to play your match. If you dont make it once, we will skip you for one match. If you miss the second call then YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
Round 1(32 people)- People will be paired up against eachother according to their seedings(1-32, 2-31, etc.). They will then face off in a best-of-three battle to determine who moves on to the round 2. Any ties after three songs will result in a fourth song chosen randomly and played with the mod "RANDOM" on. If there is still a tie then we will count the total greats, boos, goods, and misses and whoever has the most will lose the match. In the unlikely case that there is still a tie, then it will come down to a coin flip (higher seed will call 'heads' or 'tails').
Round 2(16 people)- People will once again face off in best-of-three battles. Same rules as round 1. Winners move on to round 3.
Round 3(8 people)- Best of three battles, same rules as round 2.
Round 4(4 people semi-finals)- Same rules as round 3 except the two players will battle in a best-of-five match.
~At this point we will take a short 15 minute break to give the two players who will participate in the 3rd place match sufficient time to rest~
3rd place face-off- The two people who lost their semi-final matches will face eachother to see who wins 3rd place. This round will have the same rules as round 3 (best of 3).
Finals- The two remaining players will face off in a best-of-seven contest. The winner will be announced as the winner of the tournament.
Prizes:
1st Place- 65% of pot
2nd Place- 25% of pot
3rd Place- 10% of pot
4th Place- Two free games of bowling.
Clauses:
(Credit given to Cory Evans (AKA Kiba) for making these)
1. The Agreement Clause
As with all rounds in the event, if players mutually consent, they may add any rules or remove restrictions which do not take extra time. This includes song agreement (more important in later rounds), and removal of the restriction on heavy/challenge songs only, and agreement on forced mods. This clause does not allow the use of double play or extra songs, as that would, in fact, take more time.
2. The Recursive Clause
You may only play a song of your selection once throughout the tournament. This doesn't preclude you from writing a song down on different cards throughout the tournament rounds, but if you write down a song and it is selected then you cannot write it down again.
3. The Random Clause
You may, in fact, write down RANDOM as your song, but if your opponent selects that you must play whatever comes up.
4. The Intention Clause
Anything not specifically covered in these rules will be up to my interpretation at the event.
5. The Managerial Clause
Tournament Organizers and Staff and arcade management reserve the right to ask any player to leave the premises during the tournament. Further, we reserve the right to disqualify any player without refund for poor behavior.
6. The Arbitration Clause
If you feel you received a PAD ERROR in your match, do NOT stop playing, just keep going and we will calculate it at the end of the match. We will use the following tests:
1) Does it matter? Would it change the outcome of the match if you were awarded these errors? If not, then there will be no change.
2) Does your opponent agree? If he agrees, then there is no problem, the errors will be awarded to you.
3) In the case that it matters and your opponent does not agree, we will confer amongst ourselves and ask the crowd - and then make a ruling. You cannot lose a match due to Pad Errors being awarded to your opponent unless you so consent, the most that can happen is the song is declared scratched.
4) In general, a pad MISS/BOO/GOOD will be counted as a GREAT.
7. The Scratch Clause
Should a tie happen in any round, both players will receive no points for that song and the match continues. Tieing a song in this way will be referred to as "scratching" it.
8. The Obscure Clause
In Response to an issue raised at RGC BETA, if you write down a song on your index card and your opponent selects it, but you beat him BEFORE you would have a chance to play that song (by sweeping the match), the song selected does NOT count against your picked songs and you may select it again in a future match.
IN ADDITION:
9. The Cold Incentive Clause
Missed freeze arrows will be counted as GREATS. If you feel that you have received a missed freeze due to pad error, let us know and we will refer to the Arbitration Clause. (In the past I have seen people hit freeze arrows only for the sake of getting PERFECTS while not completing the actual freeze arrow itself. In some cases doing this would make the song much much easier and can be considered 'unfair'.)
Conclusion:
I hope you all enjoy this tournament. I encourage everyone to participate as this will be a tournament to remember. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks guys.
